HeavySil 1500, sterile and apyrogenic, is a blend of high purity silicone oil 5.000 cS (100% polydimethylsiloxane) and a highly biocompatible proprietary perfluoroalkyloxy octane (C₁₁H₁₁F₁₃O).

HeavySil 1500 is packaged in syringes of 10 ml; it is chemically and physiologically inert.

The amount of volatile compounds meets the Pharmacopoeia's requirements for a reduced incidence of complications. HeavySil 1500 is a heavy silicone oil with higher than water density that warrants an effective inferior tamponade in complicated retinal detachments.
