Microbiological tests on human tissue intended for transplantation: false negative due to residual antibiotics trapped in the cryopreserved tissue.
An on-going study in collaboration with the BTCER, Bologna, Italy and BTCL, Milano is aimed at assessing the incidence of false negative in sterility testing of human cryopreserved tissues, due to the presence of residual antibiotics A mixture of resins was developed to neutralize the residual antibiotic concentrations in tissues.
Preliminary results were presented at the EATB 2010, Berlin, Germany.
