Alchimia’s perfluorocarbons are 100% fluorinated compounds; the absence of the perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) contaminant and the Hvalue less than 10 ppm makes them absolutely non-toxic. To be used intraoperatively to defold and stabilize the detached retina, HPF8 (perfluoro-n-octane) and HPF10 (perfluorodecalin) are the most controlled perfluorocarbons on the market. To guarantee their safety, we perform chemical tests of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR) and Gas Chromatography (GC).
